Proper Job Theatre Company are looking for freelance workers who are interested in working
within schools and community settings to inspire positive change. To deliver work in Yorkshire,
particularly the Kirklees area.
About Proper Job
Proper Job aims to engender positive change; bringing people together, helping them to feel
connected – important as individuals and treating each other with respect.
We specialise in two main areas; theatre and communication. Proper Job uses Theatre in
Education to its maximum potential, using performance and drama workshops to explore specific
issues such as citizenship, local democracy, stereotyping, sex and relationships education and
substance misuse.
Our communication training focuses on emotional literacy and uses NLP. This plays a huge role
in giving people the desire to learn and reach their potential, then equipping them with all the
skills they’ll need to achieve their goals.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone to help deliver our educational work, most of which has its roots in
emotional literacy. Proper Job’s work tends to be project based. We design projects specifically
for the client, these projects may run every day for a week, or they may be one day per week for
several weeks. We use drama as a tool for delivering, so some experience of delivery in an
educational setting is desirable. We are not looking for actors and will not be asking candidates
to perform. As our projects are specifically designed, the work is always varied and
interesting.
Requirements
We are specifically looking for people:
- With experience of working with people
- With good communication skills
- Prepared to work flexible hours
- Prepared to travel, and can ideally drive
- Have initiative
- Are reliable
Our projects are ongoing and we would like potential employees to work on to receive ‘on the job’>
training. Potential employees would be paid to do this work/training.
