ipodart.co.uk: innovative online art for viewing on iPods and iPhones goes live!
ipodart.co.uk, possibly the world’s first online gallery to exhibit and sell artworks for iPods
and iPhone viewing has been launched. The concept, website and artworks are the creations of
Yorkshire-based artist and designer Paul Airy. His online gallery currently exhibits nine artworks
with further pieces for exhibition coming soon.
Asked about his brainchild Paul Airy said: “I’m fascinated by the idea of art being
accessible – literally right there at your fingertips for enjoyment anytime. The iPod and iPhone
seem an obvious platform to deliver my artwork. Making the pieces led in turn to the related
website where the images can be previewed, commented on or purchased.”
Response to the launch of ipodart.co.uk has been positive; both to the artworks and the
delivery concept. Visitors to the website are also requesting the artworks in more traditional
media, so a run of limited edition prints is in the pipeline.
Paul Airy added, ‘A journal will soon be included on the website so that visitors will have
the chance to ‘interact with the artist’ and post their own comments on articles, artworks or the
website itself’. To view the works visit
