A Huddersfield-based dancehall MC will achieve a lifetime ambition when he launches his own record label this month with the help of a visit from the fastest rapper in the world.
Bongo Chilli, otherwise known as Clayton Brown from Brackenhall, will stage a launch party and music conference in Huddersfield to mark his new venture.
Among the number of guests will be Daddy Freddy, who is in the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest rapper.
Up and coming and established local artists will also be offered the stage to perform at the event at Bar Amour on Saturday November 19.
"Having my own record label has always been one of my ambitions but I really wanted to work with a few experienced producers first and achieve some record releases on their labels, in order to find my target audience," said Chilli.
"The goal of the conference is to focus the local, regional, national and international music industry and related press on the aims of the urban-influenced record label, while providing a platform for local artists to be heard and be educated in the business of music."
The new 'Bongo Chilli Records' will embrace the various genre of music that the Huddersfield artist has ventured into, which include reggae, hip hop, drum 'n' bass and r 'n' b.
Bongo himself has worked with other artists and producers from different musical backgrounds, to make his vibrant and energetic stage performances ever more versatile.
He has honed the ability to enhance arguably any instrumental with his conscious and often humorous style.
He believes in writing positive sensible lyrics that contains no profanity and has worked in schools to help children increase their growing vocabularies in various subjects such as English, Mathematics and Mental Ability.
His web site, www.bongochilli.co.uk was launched last month with the help of the Huddersfield-based Creative Industries Development Agency (CIDA) and Intercomm.
The conference runs from 2pm to 5pm and from 10pm the launch venue will be booming with on-stage entertainment from 'Daddy Freddy', one of the UK's leading dancehall artist 'YT', Huddersfield top duo 'Harlem Gem', roots reggae unsung veteran talent 'Dan Man' and more.
Admission to the launch is free by invite only while the after-show will be open to the general public with an entry fee of £5 per person. Anyone wanting further information should contact Clayton Brown on 07916 232 066 or e-mail clayton@bongochilli.com
