Last weekend saw the launch of a new community radio project in Kirklees - 'Two Valleys Radio'.
Local Arts organisation, Heads Together Productions, have secured funding to develop a web
based community radio project in the Holme and Colne valleys. The project is about encouraging
local residents to get involved in making radio programmes and have their say about local issues,
cultural events or musical talents, and have some fun along the way!
Heads Together Productions will also be working in partnership with Satellite Arts, who will
be creating an original Community Radio Play. Local residents will be able to get involved in
writing, acting and recording the drama which will develop through a series of workshops.
Two Valleys Radio was launched this weekend at the Marsden Jazz Festival and the Pigs Might
Fly Festival at Bates Mill in Huddersfield. A brilliant time was had by all volunteers and we
covered some fantastic musical talents at both events. If you didn't manage to get down to the
festivals, you can 'listen again' on
www.twovalleysradio.co.uk.
