Huddersfield band KAVA KAVA enjoy not 1 but 3 songs in the new season's soundtrack to hit US TV show DIRT, featuring Friends star Courtney Cox Arquette!
Yorkshire (Huddersfield) dance rock act Kava Kava are no strangers to US Film and TV having
already been spun in Golden Globe winning series 'Weeds' and cult Hollywood movie 'Boys and Girls
Guide To Getting Down'.
The band's unique mix of electronica, rock and soul have certainly won over music supervisors
to the Kava Kava sound as well as taste maker DJs such as Nic Harcourt and Sat Bisla. Last year the
band was also featured as one of only 24 artists in the soundtrack to HBO's 'John From Cincinnati'
(and that was alongside Muse, Elvis Costello, Joe Strummer, U2, David Byrne, Kasabian, TV On The
Radio and Bob Dylan to name-drop the standard!)
Following a hard gigging year which included slots at UK's Glastonbury Festival, China's
Beijing Midi Festival, SXSW Texas and just recently, a tour of the Czech Republic, the band are
chuffed to have two songs in episode 1 and another in episode 2 of DIRT. They are the itunes single
release "Tic", the soulful "Terrorists" and from the band's "Maui" CD album the psychedelic groover
'NFA' used heavily in episode 1 as lead character magazine editor Lucy Spiller (played by Courtney
Cox) storms out of her stay in hospital and straight back to work!
Kava Kava's marvellous tunes Tic, Terrorists and NFA are available via iTunes, beatport and
direct from the label's download and CD store at
