5Rhythms Dance is an exhilarating and liberating approach to improvised movement and dance. It
is authentic, inspired and catalytic. 5Rhythms dance is a Movement Meditation practice devised by
Gabrielle Roth in the 1960's. It focuses on putting the body in motion through five rhythms, which
are; Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness, in a sequence called a Wave.
5 Rhythms dance can be meditative, expressive, fun, and transformative. It gives you the
opportunity to find freedom of movement, profound healing, even states of heightened awareness, and
the inspiration for living a creative and fulfilling life. It’s also an opportunity to dance in a
friendly, non judgmental, smoke and alcohol free environment.
5 Rhythms dance sessions are held every two weeks in Hull, on a Friday evening. The next
sessions is on Friday July 13th, at The Hall, Endsleigh Centre, Beverley Road. Hull, from
7.30pm-9.30pm. 5 Rhythms Dance in Hull is supported by the Arts Council. Prices are £2, £4 or £6
depending on income. Everyone is welcome!
