The OCN Level Three Certificate in Community Development is a great opportunity for creative
practitioners in Kirklees who want to get involved in community development projects or perhaps
develop the underpinning knowledge for the work they already do.
If you already work in a community setting:
- Learn to overcome apathy and get more local people involved in your activities
- Put your self and/or your organisation in a strong position for receiving future funding by
learning about social justice issues on the government agenda
- Become more effective and earn a Level Three qualification for the work you are already
doing
For those who want to develop skills for a career in community development work:
- Achieve a recognised qualification linked to national occupational standards (currently the
only Community Development qualification available at this level)
- Develop the knowledge and understanding to succeed at interviews for roles in community
development – the course covers in detail all the things that you typically need to know when
applying or tendering for community projects.
- Find out about the varied opportunities available for employment and further study in the field
– through the Creative Renaissance programme there will be opportunities to be partnered with
potential employers in the field of regeneration
The course will be delivered every Monday and Tuesday from 8th September to 25th November 2008
and is FREE to residents of Kirklees.
This programme offers a great opportunity to get involved in current community regeneration
activities happening around Kirklees. Participants will share ideas and experiences with a friendly
group of people and earn a recognised Level Three qualification.
