Funding for Community Projects
The Prince's Trust
Do you work with young people aged 11-16? Do they have an idea for a community project but don't have the money to make it happen?
If so, The Prince's Trust is offering the young people you work with the chance to apply for cash awards of between £250 and £1,000 to complete a community project!
Thanks to The Prince's Trust's involvement with 'The Big Boost' - funded by the Big Lottery Fund - we are offering more than 43 Group Awards to young people aged 11-16 across Yorkshire and The Humber during 2006. The money is available to all young people at your school aged 11-16. All you need is a minimum of 4 young people and an adult who can offer help and support to the group. The cash is only available throughout 2006 so please get your applications in ASAP.
The Prince's Trust is interested in funding a wide range of community projects and would be delighted to discuss all opportunities. To find out more about how The Prince's Trust could provide the funds to help young people turn an idea into a reality, please contact Jo Woodhouse on 07904 379952 e-mail Joanne.woodhouse@princes-trust.org.uk
Community Development Foundation
We hope you have already been informed that the Community Development Foundation has been commissioned to run the second round of the Faith Communities Capacity Building Fund, with a closing date of November 1st.
The Fund will support faith and inter-faith organisations to strengthen their capacity in order to play a fuller part in civil society/community cohesion. It will also support inter-faith activities which bring together people from different faith groups to talk, network and learn from each other.
It will not support what might be called the normal activities of faith communities in relation to own-faith education or worship or intra-faith activities (i.e. activities whose benefit is confined to a particular faith community).
Organisations may apply for small grants (up to £5,000) or large grants (between £5,000 and 30,000) which are available between April 2007 and March 2008.
The CDF has been running a series of briefing sessions across the country and also offers telephone and e-mail support to organisations wishing to apply to the fund.
You can get full information and application forms via the CDF website: www.cdf.org.uk.
